Praise Jesus, the Saviour of the World. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. The Lord says, "Call unto me and I will answer you. I will show you great and mighty things that you know not. Come let us reasontogether says the Lord. Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. Though they be red as crimson, they shall be as wool. If you live in Sutton and care about your area, then join us on Friday 10 February 2012( I made a mistake on the previous post, sorry) at 7:30pm at the Gracechurch URC in the Gracechurch Centre for a time of worship and prayer for our town. The Lord has called us to pray because He wants to come and bless us.He wants to save Sutton Coldfield and make us a blessing to others. His people are the first ones to receive the blessing as any good "father" would do.He says" If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from Heaven, forgive their sins and heal their land. Lets do it God's way and not our way if we really want His blessing. We must love the Lord with all our heart...and love our neighbour as our selves. God is not a man that He should lie....what He says , He will do. Praise His Name.

Hi again.I am excited about what the Lord is doing amongst us. It is marvelous in our eyes.We are praying for Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham and our nation for God to come and transform all of us. Are you excited about the Wind of the Spirit that is blowing? If you are not, then rack up some gusto!! At our last prayer meeting on the 2nd Friday in January, there was a picture given about a "wind turbine" blowing and with other turbines making a powerful force. Get in the wind, Sutton. We won't be left untouched. I say Blow Spirit Blow!! Set our hearts on Fire. Bring life and Light into us. Book in your Diary Friday 9th February to Pray at the URC, Gracechurch Centre : A Day of Prayer for Sutton Coldfield. Remember, February is the month of Prayer for our Town. Just do it. Details to follow. Shalom!

It has taken me a long time to get on this wall. I am happy I finally made it. We started a praying group since August 2011 and have been praying on the 2nd friday every month for two hours together 7:30pm to 9:30pm in a church prayer room or in a home. It has been great. We meet this friday in a home in Sutton to pray for 2 hours but we encourage each other to pray every Friday or as often as possible for our churches, families, communities and Government. We are planning to to meet at the Parish Church Hall in february and hope other pray-ers can join us to pray for Sutton. When the people of God come together, God is there in their midst.

I'm organising a month of prayer events beginning Jan 14th through our church community (Duke St Sutton Coldfield) - people are hosting gatherings such as early morning breakfast, late night with hot chocolate, making a prayer collage etc - we will be praying for issues wider than just Birmingham but thought it might encourage people to hear what we're doing.

It struck me recently that the first three elements of the greatest commandment all speak of a conscious attentiveness to God. We are to love the Lord in this way: 1) with all our heart 2) with all our mind 3) with all our soul 4) with all our strength. It strikes me that only the last of these speaks of our service to God and it seems to flow from a deep conscious attentiveness to Him with all of our focus. How many of us seek to love Him with all of our strength, trying to serve Him with ever growing levels of energy and ever-decreasing space in our diaries, consistently finding that the great struggle amidst the serving is to find time to give Him focused attention? Are we missing something?

"Let's talk about intercession, at one time I read that all intercession was prayer, but that not all prayer was intercession. I believe that is a true statement, but if that is a true statement then what is intercession? Intercession has been described as travailing prayer, praying through and burden bearing. I have been saying for some time that intercession was going to look different going forward. One morning, not too long, ago I asked the Holy Spirit about this and His reply was that,"You need to go to the place of intercession." I wasn't exactly sure where that was when He responded, "It is at the right hand of the Father, where Jesus ever lives to make intercession for us" Hebrew 7:25" This is a quote from Tim Benson from the US

1 Timothy 2:1-6,8
(1) I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— (2) for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. (3) This is good, and pleases God our Savior, (4) who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. (5) For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, (6) who gave himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witnessed to at the proper time...
(8) Therefore I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or disputing.
Calling the men, it's time for us to be less distracted with our own comfort, with watching football or TV, with being self-absorbed. We have to become leaders and stewards, be disciplined and focused on our mission, our calling and our ultimate goal being with Christ Jesus.
Grace and peace!

for the young people of Balsall Heath/Edgbaston - Lord I pray that you would help us Christians to tackle the scourge of cannabis addiction which is frying young minds and mental health. Give us love and wisdom and power.

The future of the Kingsbridge Project is under serious threat as the Council are favouring selling off a large piece of public land in Birmingham to a private commercial organisation. Kingsbridge have spent three years gruelling work on a property transfer of this site- including a derelict council-owned building which we hoped to convert into a community hub- serving a very multicultural area, meeting all the Big Society targets. Now we've been told that a private development company with loads of loot is offering to buy the same building outright from the Council as an extention of the college for overseas students who will pay huge fees. It’s a real test for the Coalition Government’s post-riot resolve. Will the lure of big money prove irresistible to a bankrupt local authority; or will the powers hang tough for the sake of the wider community? There are just two weeks before the council makes its decision – Please pray for wisdom, and for a miracle. Not by might, nor by strength, but by my Spirit... (Zechariah 4)
